2009 SEASON UPDATE [updated 6/30/09]
Parking...On June 30th we received notice from the owners of Fleming fields that they will begin ticketing and/or towing cars that park in the grass. Earlier in the season, we received the same notice from the owners of the Lewis ballfields. We ask for your cooperation in using only the designated spaces at each field. JSL does not own any ball fields - we rent sites from the city and/or private entities. Ticketing and/or towing are at the discretion of each field owner.
Hot weather...Since we don't cancel games due to the heat, we want to remind you to make sure your child takes plenty of water with them to games...and don't hesitate to give them reminders during games to drink! A small cooler of water on the bench with a few hand towels in it to drape over the back of the head/neck works great to cool down a player quickly too (just be sure to let the players know its purpose so they don't use it as a starting point for a water fight)
Check this website frequently during the season for more updates.
YEAR-END TOURNAMENTS... (7/1/09) We are currently rescheduling rainouts and anticipate having the tourney games, start a few days after your last regular season scheduled game. This year, we will have tourney games scheduled for the same nights you played your regular season games, as well as one Saturday, depending on your Division. The Saturday dates will either be July 18th or 25th. Your coach will be notified ASAP.
Our Lincoln Youth Baseball Organization of Lincoln, Nebraska, was founded in 1957 and originally named Lincoln Little Chiefs after the professional minor league baseball team of that era. The Little Chiefs program affiliated with the National Little League organization in 1991 and was then referred to as Lincoln Little League.
In 2008, we discontinued our affiliation with National Little League because we exceeded the population restrictions that National Little League required. Our League is now associated with the Lincoln Saltdogs and we utilize the name Junior Saltdogs League. All programs, services, insurance, and League adminstration, are provided by our Organization.
We provide baseball programs for the following age Divisions:
The Lincoln Youth Baseball Organization is a 501(c)3 Corporation. Information on this website is for general information purposes only and may be updated as needed. Exact information can be obtained from the Division Commissioners as the season commences.

Jr. Saltdogs baseball league not dissolving
BY TODD HENRICHS / Lincoln Journal Star
Tuesday, Jul 29, 2008 - 12:58:48 am CDT
For the vast majority of the 2,200 youths active in Junior Saltdogs baseball, no changes are in store for next season.
But one change, involving eight teams in the Saltdogs Division, has caused its share of confusion. So much so, in fact, that board members with the Junior Saltdogs found it necessary to quell rumors that had the entire league dissolving before all the bats and helmets were packed away.
“We want everyone out there to know that we’re only talking about the one division and not the entire league,” league president Dina Euler said Monday morning. “We’ve got more teams than we’ve ever had before, and we want to keep that momentum building.” read more

Posted June 13, 2008:
THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT:
Kris Johnson passed away on Friday, June 13th, after an aggresive battle with cancer. Kris is the wife of Brad Johnson, who is a long-time League coach, asst Timberjacks U13s coach, and his company "Centrix Solutions" is a League sponsor.
Tjacks coach, Larry Svec, had a tourney scheduled on the weekend. After hearing about Kris, he called the opposing tourney coach and asked to cancel the games. Brad asked that Larry keep the games on as scheduled, since Kris would want her son to play baseball. The games were played, and after the last game, the opposing coaches and players, presented Kris and Brad's son, Brady, with a signed card and a game ball. Brady is the oldest of their three sons.
Puts things in perspective, where suddenly, games being rained out don't seem like quite an obstacle.
