FIELD MAINTENANCE INFORMATION:
You may have read in the Lincoln Journal Star (6/1/08) about the cuts in the city budget. Some Summer parks and rec positions have been eliminated which means less mowing, bathroom upkeep, and other maintenance duties at the fields that our Junior Saltdogs leagues play on.
Our field crew will continue to do their best to chalk and drag the fields, in a timely manner. Also, teams are wanting to get on the fields for late afternoon practices, which conflicts with our field preparations. In the past, we've talked about doing the mowing ourselves, but given the equipment hauling and the potential liability of mowing on city property, we will not mow the fields. If anyone chooses to mow their field, they will do so at their own risk and our Organization will not take responsibility. Please accept our apologies for this situation, we just ask that you understand the reason for unmowed outfields during the season. |
